Butterfly Effect

Have you ever done something wrong in the past? Surely everyone has done. And Have you ever wanted to go back to the past? I have. One time, I thought to get back to the past. it isn’t because I regret my life, but I wanted to fix my mistakes I’ve done in the past. But the thought stopped when I watched butterfly effect.

Here's a little excerpt from the film. Evan was met again with Kayleigh, his first love when he was a child. Kayleigh had a messy life. And Evan wanted to change the destiny of Kayleigh’s life. Evan had the ability to go back in the past and do many things. Evan succeded to change the past, but that happens in the future wasn’t like expected. Then Evan back again and again to the past. The goal was only one, changed the past of Kayleigh, but the result was the same because the destiny couldn’t be changed as he wants. The small changes in the past would be big effect in the future.

I became curious about what relation the title Butterfly Effect with the storyline that Evan wanted to change destiny.

Butterfly Effect is a situation in which an event will affect other events. Quoting from wikipedia, Butterfly effect refers to the idea that the flutter of a butterfly's wings in Brazil wilderness can produce tornadoes in Texas a few months later. Only slight changes in the initial conditions, can drastically change the behavior of the system in the long term. If the system starts by 2 as initial conditions, then the result will be much different if started by 2,000001. In fact, 0,000001 is very small and reasonable to ignore. In other words, a very small error will cause a catastrophe in the future.

A decision can to consequences change the state of things in the world. All the people, all the decisions, all the events always have connections and influence to others who take other decisions and generate another event anyway .

So, be careful with every detail decision we make, because it will effect our lives in the future. Perhaps the butterfly effect is destiny. Enjoy your life.
